RPW 65mm Throttle body and Manifold Package

This was brought up in a seperate discussion but I decided to move it to a subject all by itself.
We recently finished a modified intake manifold (Incorporating welding, machining and match porting) with a 65mm High flowed replacement throttle body.
This package utilises all of the origonal FTO switches and idle speed control housings but will require extending several choke water hoses slightly.
This package incorporates openign up the inlet side of the inlet manifold to a much larger diameter and removing some internal restrictions.
We do this on an exchange basis - so you send us your manifold and throttle body on exchange back to us and we refund you the core charge back which is charged up front.
Fitment to the car shoudl take aroudn 1 hour max to completely swap out hte intake manifold and fit new one.
The price of this package is worth $800.00 for the manifold and throttle body. There is a $200.00 core charge on top of this again refunded when you return your manifold / throttle body back to us.
I also recomend with this our new intake manifold insulator gaskets (Check our website under the products guide or the specials for the month) which reduced the intake manifold air tempature heat soak by aroudn 50%. Since the air tempature plug is located inside the manifold this will have a direct result upon the tuning of the engine which will self adjust to maximise the drop in the intake tempature.

That unit is for the Mitsubishi magna v6 engines which we could make for a full race FTO but for a street vehicle woudl not produce any gains over teh benefits of the variable inlet manifold package you have already.
But the throttle body on the front would be the same design as that photo which has an internal bore of 65mm on the butterfly Verses the 59mm bore on the stock FTO throttle body.
Additionally the welding and opening up of the manifold also has the effect of going from a opening size of 60mm crunched down to around a 65mm opened up into something like a 80mm opening. I have already sent out the one we did but I will take some photos of the next one we do so people can understand what we have acheived.

So dos it incorporate the dual runner system?
If so can you give us the details, have the primary runners been widened/extended? Have the secondary runners been opened up more?

No we have not altered any of the runners or the way that it moves air through the runners.
What we are simply doing is removing the stock 60mm unit, welding around the neck which restricts down and then opens up again.
Then we are machining that out, at the same time boring it out larger to the new larger 65mm throttle body and then cleaning it all up and assembling.
There is no need to alter the runners etc as there setup is fine This is simply allowing the vehicle to be able to get more air into the manifold via the larger internal diameter of the throttle body and removing the restriction in the neck section of the manifold so that it can get the air into the plenum chamber section easier and faster.
The main improvement will of course be throttle response and a top end gain as well although the exact amount I cannot provide as of yet. We have done this several times now a couple to the UK and now this one locally.

How much extra if we want the Insulator Blocks at the same time?
What's the estimate turn around time from the day we order it? And I assume freight is extra, so would you know how much it might cost to ship it to VIC, SYD & QLD??

I only have one exchange manifold at this time so allowing for freight and turn around times at least 3 weeks between orders.
If you want it done faster and can send me your manifold (Upper half only) then I can do it in one days work.
Freight is around $35.00 anywhere in australia

What kind of benefits would the twin parallel throttle body with custom plenum and match ported intake runners have over the setup you are talking about above?

be pretty tuff running two air intakes into te area? i think thenessacerypipe restrictions woul eliminate the advantages of twin intakes...?

I heard that the FTO has a 60mm and the magna has a 65mm one. It has been fitted to a few cars serves no purpose because the inlet side may be 65mm but the side after the butterfly is still only 60mm.

The purpose of having a larger intake side to butterfly size it to as the part name suggests - "Throttle" the air. Ie squeeze the air into a smaller space - both speeding the air up & cooling it down. Colder air = better combustion.
I went down the road of trying to fit Magna TB's to no avail - they are no bigger - all 60mm butterfly. Best option is to get your own one tunnel bored to a larger size, fit a larger butterfly valve, then have the opening side machined out larger again.
Overall, the process of doing this gives minimal gains unless you go & port out the whole intake & plenum as well.

Hi Guys,
I have this on my car and would recommend getting the Manifold and TB fitted especially for those with cat back exhaust, CAI kit and the RPW extractors... I also got the FPR and the high end gains on this setup are crazy !!
When hitting mivec in 3rd gear the rev meter snaps up to 6000rpm and the from about 135-140 kph to around 155-160 kph instantly... YOu might be thinking wats the use of it if you have to go that fast to get the gains well i say its just bloody good fun! and there are noticble gains in 1st and 2nd ...
Now i havent got the cat back fitted as yet just have the N1 xforce barrel, but doing that and getting a piggy back ECU your looking at a fast car !

so what the is the total price i'm looking at, if i get this throttle body and the gasket (that u recomend) + fitting charges.
and would the rpw ditributors (fast forward motors) in melbourne be able to do this?
