is it fair price?

I was quoted $400 for timing belt change, is it a fair price? I'm in sydney.

Thats a pretty good price. I've heard them done for 6-700 in the past....

hey ed... price is good if it includes parts... but
I hope your not just changing timing belt and nothing else? Depending on your situation - kms, conditione etc, are you doing 100km service etc? you would be smart to do plugs, cam seals, etc etc at teh same time..

yes, actually my odometer reads 120000 :lol: My FTO is still under warranty with Western Toyota, parts is included in $ 400. They did the sparkies etc. changed the starter motor ( i know diffrerence now between a stater and alternator motor :wink: )

You might like to look at having the water pump changed at the same time...

all right for the BIG service what should we have done?

timing belt
plugs
air cond / alternator belts
water pump ??
cam seals ??

anyone add owt else!

I have been quoted about $450 labour plus parts.

Yep, water pump really should be changed whilst that end of the motor is open having the belts changed. Kempys now have an aftermarket pump that fits the FTO for $80 NZ. Genuine are $180 NZ.
