Replaced my battery about a month ago and just realised that powder like stuff grown on the (+) terminal.
Looks like oxidation.
How do I fix it, and why it started to happen?

Lead acid car batteries produce just that - acid. Corrodes anything in its way.

Easiest cure is to clean off the terminal, then coat the terminal in vasoline & reconnect.

There are some fancy sprays, but vas work just as well

Being the wanker that I am, I always have some on hand (no pun intended)

*kidding*

Ahahaha, nice one Bennoz :)

I was getting the same thing, got so bad that about once a month the car just wouldn't start at all, it would sit there dead when you turned the key. Ended up replacing the terminals with some shiney new ones and havn't had a bit of oxidation since.

went to get the same fix for my gf's excel, talked to a guy at autobarn, he reckons vaseline does not work and that it was better to use the terminal luquid spray stuff that was made for protecting terminals. about $10.

anyway, he may of been selling me the product.. but Eh...
