dunno about a special tool, but you need to take the intake manifold off, then you czan get it with a normal plug spanner.

Its a normal spark plug tool to get the rear ones out. I've changed mine and it took 1 hour because i had to take the manifold off. So yeah its a pretty easy ask if your patient and have the time

I'm also interested to find out where to get them from in Melbourne. Gonna do a major service soonish and replace the rear spark plugs.
How often do the front and rear plugs have to be changed and which ones would you use for the rear in order for them to last longer (since they are much harder to get to)?

you platinums, iridiums whatever sparkplugs with a long life span.
keep standard in the front, but require replacing more often.
so you melbournians! where can we get el cheapo platinums? kmart or target?

Papaya, try Auto Parts on Barkly street in Footscray. I just found out that place myself. You can also get a headlight bulb for only $13 there. Last time I got it from SBE888 for 50 buck each. You may try Auto Parts in your area
I may need some spark plugs too.
Cheer.

the amount of piss farting around required to fit the rear bank of plugs i reckon its easier just to pay for a mechanic to do it.

don't know but check the FTO Project results for differences between boring standard ones and irridium ones
