60litres Melliebear :)

Usually my tank light comes on with 10-15Litres to spare (ie. when I fill up I can only put max 45-50litres in).

Typically with 5-10minute drives I only get 330km out of a tank. With some highway driving I'll get into the 400's. I'll let you know what its properly capable of after a trip to anna bay and back (400km). I'm suspecting with that drive I should make it to around 500 out of the tank.

So in summary, normal driving I get 12 - 14L per 100km.

I've milked out over 550kms, including some "spirited" driving.

I'd be cranky if I didn't make over 400kms to a tank.

And yeah, it's a 60L tank for all FTOs.

I get around 500km before I fill up, and I always fill up at 1/4 left, of course thats with normal driving.
If I go out 'cruising' i get about 300-400km before i refill

Usually light comes on around 500-550km... so always assumed 600km to the tank! Never had the guts to run her dry to see how much is left after the guage bottoms out. But yeah, never put more more than 58L in her at a time.

Wow - a whole 2L left in there.

You don't like taking risks do you?

Anyone fancy running the tank dry then, just to prove it's 60L? And are we talking from when the petrol pump shuts off, or till it's about to spill over the lip? :)

I have 15L left when she lights up.

But I have only 10L left when she lights up solid and constant (the needle wanders a fair bit).

60 litres?

Does anyone have any documentation handy? I thought it may have been 65 litres.

My fiancé tried to beat the empty light a couple of weeks ago and lost.

I added 5 litres on the side of the road and then another 63 when we reached a servo about 1km away.

FYI

Apparently the FTO didn't actually splutter or surge, it just went into "limp home" mode which gives you a chance to pull over I suppose.

Cheers

Chris

I've put 64 litres in mine already without the light even having come on. I would hazzard a guess to say that at least some FTOs have a 70litre tank.
I've got a facelift GX so dont know if that makes a difference.

The technical spec book claims 60L
The owners handbook claims 60L
2 websites I've been to claim 64L
2 websites I've been to claim 65L

Phew.... no-one knows!

Well I know mine is def more than 60 for sure and I've reached about 550km on one tank once which would be an accomplishment for a 60L tank considering I dont see that much highway use.
Maybe they are bigger on facelifts?
