Roof

Anyone ever had the roof lining out of their FTO. I have rust spots reappearing in my roof

I spent $800 2 months ago to get rid of these (holes were welded up etc). I can now see a couple of new bubbles. Didnt take the roof lining out before. Is there anything I should be aware of when doing this???

And if the news is real bad, does anyone know where I can source a roof from (with sunroof hole) at a reasonable price. Given that halfcuts dont usually have a roof, im thinking that this might be fun (not)!

....Or is it just time to go convertible :P

Any help/advice appreciated, this is driving me nuts!

Dwayne, did you not get any sort of warranty period on your roof repairs?? I'd be straight back to that bodyshop with quite an attitude

Yep

Yep, already gone back. The guys at the bodyshop have been quite reasonable actually. They are going to come to the party with this, but the way I see it, if they fix it the same way as last time, ill only get the problem happening again a few months further down the track - that helps no-one.

This time, trying to work out what to do to solve the problem, not just prolong it. I figure the first step is to get the lining out and have a look. I dont know whats underneath (If anyone has an idea, speak up now!!) - single skin, double skin and I dont know exactly how extensive the problem is (find out I guess). If more has to be done to stop the problem this time, I dont think it is unreasonable for me to cough up a little more (as long as its fixed!!!)

So if anyone knows whats involved in removing the lining.........

Oh and Leigh, the problem is caused by the glue used to stick the lining to the roof of the car (it was bodgy) - It holds moisture. Id look into it if I were you - I dont think you really want water dripping off your roof lining.
