How "bad" is NOS for an engine? MIVEC V6 in particular?
I am thinking of using a 50 wet shot for street, will it be safe to use a few times a week?
How big of a shot is safe on the MIVEC engine?
If not I wont bother with it...

This is not coming from an expert but more someone that just has some basic knowledge, i think that nos in the long run will f**k you engine, unless you have strengthened internals. It is probably one of the cheapest bang for your buck type of performance, but i would recommened not getting it.

Ahhhh, NOS. A double shot is almost better than sex.
I run it in my mini & the last 3 motors I built lasted less than 10k
It has a habit of petrifying any rubber components it comes in contact with (valve seals etc) and also has a habit of polishing your cylinder bores if used too often.
Also keep in mind its illegal to use on the street. If you get caught with a bottle hooked up, you face a WHOPPER fine. Thats why I keep a dummy bottle unconnected in the boot

If you have a system installed & you use the car on the street, the main line from the bottle must be disconnected.

Just a quick note, if you are going to install NOS, get the WET NOS kit, at least it will cause less damage then the DRY version.

yeah, WET NOS kits are good. Thinking of putting one on the S2K

Yeah I would put either wet or direct port if anything...
But if it's that bad for the engine I rather spend $1500 on other engine mods that might not get me as much power but atleast I can use it all the time and it wont harm the engine too much
I guess the final verdict is no NOS?

NOS is awsome but not a good idea if your looking for a long lasting engine. If your prepared to rebuild your engine every say 10-15k then go for it...

It's $130 to refil it in canberra because it has to be sent away or something
That's 10lbs
I guess I may give this one a miss then
