The squeak - been putting up with it for months. Thought it was my engine mount for a while. Finally think I have worked it out. I think Im getting left/right movement in the Bisteins (<8000km old) when I accelerate/brake. The squeak is coming from rubber inside shock itself.

May not be able to fix - looking into possible replacements - namely coilovers. Can I have some impressions.....

If possible with reference to availability & cost within Australia. Also, had to cut my existing strut to put in the Bilsteins, so looking for something that does not need the original strut to operate.

Was happy with the ride the Bilsteins provided, so after something comparable. Am I right in assuming that as you lower the height on coilovers, it stiffens the ride, or do these 2 factors operate independently of one another.

Yes, have had steering box rebuilt, including control arms. Pretty much everything under the car to do with suspension has been replaced or rebuilt.

ITS FIXED!!!!!!!

And now its time to eat some humble pie. Sorry to have ever doubted you Obi Wan fto617, you were right. Control Arm Bushes were over tightened. Ironic that, a part worth $23 per side was the problem. Ive spent thousands trying to get rid of it.

Dont know whether to laugh or cry.....
