Just wondering if anyone has properly tested their FTO...
Stock GPX is suposed to be around 7.6s....but with a decent CAI system and new exhaust system (extractors, high flow cat etc) I would be expecting to see around 170-180kW at the flywheel (sound reasonable) thats not even touching the engine...
what would that equate to in 0-100 terms??
Be really intrested to know how many mods I need to do to get 0-100 in the 6.5s range.

Well, to properly test it, you need some top $$$ equipment, so doubtful that anyone would have done anything more than G-tech or Apexi RSM (and please, no more debates about their relative merits!).
I have got a G-tech, and just for your info, best 0-100 time was 6.41s. Only one person in the car, low fuel, no ICE (other than standard), no airbags, ABS, traction control to slow me down
Was done on a dead flat road in an industrial estate.
I don't know how accurate they are, but I do know that at the time I was surprised by that run how quick it was. It felt that fast - just hooked up and took off!
But I don't put a lot of faith in it, merely an indication.
Oh, and I doubt that the mods you mentioned would make that much difference to an FTO, at least not without a new computer and tuned absolutely spot on. They were so well tuned and designed out of the factory. Damn Mitsubishi!!!

mate with the mods you want to do i wouldnt expect anything near that. I reckon close to 160kws
What it will do it make your power more usuable. Also put into consideration the age of the car, and our lower ron fuel.
Bigger engined cars can see gains of around that, but considering the FTO engine is already so highly tuned, and bascially the intake exhaust is almost as good as it get, its hard to extract power out of the thing.
Manual, and being a good driver, is the fastest option.

you serious? Closer packed gears, and the ability to launch off the line make more than a difference.

I've been timed recently for a magazine using datron timing equipment and i got
(mph)
0-60 6.6
0-100 15.6
qtr mile 15.2
And maxed over a measured distance 135.9
It was a cold damp day,not good for traction.....bear in mind that my best qtr mile is 14.8 measured on a drag strip
That should give you an idea
My car has output has been measured at 211 bhp at the fly (don't know what that is in Aus speak)

Ive got a magazine that did a road test on both manual and tip GPX's and the differance in the 0 to 100 times where under 0.5 seconds

Not much straight line difference, but on a track....

Apologies, I should have elaborated, especially with the tip GPX's I have driven not quite as heavily modified as mine. The whole lightened flywheel, heavy clutch & quickshifter combo is a winner

The whole lighten flywheel would really be effective with a tip would it ??
