Hi guys,
Has anyone seen or used these? Are they just the same as a K&N Filter?
Cheers,
Ben
P.S. MERRY XMAS!

Hmmm i see, well your probably gonna laugh at this but the main reason i am looking at this is because im planning on going for the whole blue and silver engine bay look (blue samco, etc) and thought this would suit nicely. Do you know of any other blue filters?

Greddy Airinx II Air Filter, these are huge filter compare to the other brand "foam style" pod filter.

yep.. looks like a brand new genuine all original "ralliart" rip-off
there's also normal oiled filters with those blue heat shields. I don't trust foam filters as they do deteriorate pretty badly.

I think it depends how well you look after it, i clean mine every 6mths, & it still looks like brand know after almost 3yrs later.

yep that's a good point. it may also be the fact that my past 3 cars were turbo cars and whenever i used foam filters, the filter would perish. i think it also has to do with the extreme temperatures under the bonnet from the turbo.
in any case, getting a foam filter over an element type filter would always increase the chance of having bits of crap flying into the engine. that's how I see it anyway...

Meh, these motors will cope with foam type. If your looking for 350 thousand kms, your quite right, element is the way to go.
*Says me whos last few cars had nothing but ram tubes poking out of whopper Weber carbs

ya who cares...the foam ones rock on...just cover it from the heat the best you can and look after it....then again in the end just buy a new one....

it doesn't have K&N embossed on it which means that your car won't have 10kw more atw. dyno proven too.

was that a joke?
you can never get 10kw atw on a NA car. I preffer the trusted brands, that's all.

yes... that was a joke....
i've said it before and I'll say it again... branded means more $$$ for very minimal differences. an air filter is still an air filter after all and you can pretty much go and buy any element filter and it'll do the job perfectly fine whether it be $30 or $250.
K&N is a trusted brand because it has market share and exposure.

not to sound bad but i think autobarn has to be the biggest rip off ive ever seen. i paid 90$ for a 70 mm silicon bend pipe for my air intake, never going back there ever again. im still kicking myself on my butt for not waiting for kevs friend to bringing out his intake kit.
