battery not flat?
maybe your spark plugs need cleaning..?

Maybe it's idling a bit low? It should be idling minimum 500rpm.......I think......can't remember

Unplug the battery for about 20 minutes. This will reset the ECU.
Try starting it, and see how it goes.

If it starts fine, let it idel for like 10 minutes, so that the ecu can reconfigure it self with the air/fuel ratios

If it stilll does the same thing then you haven't lost anything, my hunch would be to check what rpm your car is idling it, when cold it should be about 1200 rpm, when warm should be about 750rpm.

When you first start the car, when it is cold it should jump up to 1200rpm.

If it doesn't or like you say it just drops and stalls then my hunch would be the idle speed controller, which controls the revs when the car is cold, and your idle speed.

Let us know

mine does the same thing. from cold i have to keep my foot on the acclerator for a while , the the rev starts to hunt a bit and starts idling at around 800 rpm. while i drive its around 300 rpm. the car doesnt stall but the idle is just low.sometimes it idles way too high like when ive driven hard for a while. i got my stepper motor checked out but lee told me its fine. have reset the ecu as well a number of times. no change been going on for ages. :( could use some help too

i still think its your stepper!

Usually when people test the stepper, the stepper is cold. Try testing right after a spirited drive. My stepper tested fine when cold but when hot it wasnt. Either that or the cable going to the stepper.

One way is to turn the idle speed up but it should not be done this way! Also its just plain annoying! Even so, if your engine was in proper working order, the ISC should increase engine rpm when cold.

If your car does not idle higher when cold its got to be ISC related. If your engine revs higher than normal when warm if you put it in park or nutral, or revs drop when turning on AC then its most likely stepper related.

Your stepper might be fine but the wiring to it might not be! Check it - I found a wire broken and that solved all my cold start problems.
