noticed that changing from 2nd to 3rd gear is rough in my tiptronic, it makes a knock sound changing in and it only happens on high revs, changing at about 4000rpm or under is fine. any idea?

Stop driving your car and get it looked at ASAP.

reset of the ecu and it runs smooth again.

Maybe the tip computer has the millenium bug.......hehehe

Most likely needs a service. I can't say I've ever serviced my tip box........time to pull my finger out I think.........
