Heater Core again

Well it's time for my annual heater core failure, have to put up with the foul smell of coolant until tomorrow when I have time to run a bypass again.
Does anyone know the part number for the heater core itself and the price of a new one. I don't think second hand is the way to go for this part because it's so tough to change. Getting it out wasn't so bad but getting the whole thing back together certainly was.
Thanks....angry Dan

That's it but it is the whole distro box or just the part that slides into it. It seems a bit dodge that you'd have to buy the whole thing and I'd imagine very expensive since that white distro air box thing has a couple of motors on it.

Bugger - need to know your chassis type (ie HNHM etc) to get the precise part. There were 3 different types used in all the FTO models

Dan,
May pay to talk to the UK guys as I believe some of them have had aftermarket heater cores built from better quality materials.
Was looking into it myself when mine went but ran out of ime/patience and coolant.
Cheers

I'll be finding out next week the price to get a genuine new core and one made up. Will let you know. Have run a bypass for now with some leftovers I had from last time this happened.
