Intake & Exhaust Manifold matching - worth doing?

Just looking around other car forums and seen a few nice FTOs with this mod and I was wondering how far off were Mitsubishi when it comes to matching of the plenum -> intake -> head runners/ports as well as the engine -> exhaust manifold?

I was thinking that this may be a worthwhile mod if Mitsubishi did a pretty bad job on the intake and exhaust manifolds.

Is it also worthwhile to do a slight polish to remove casting dags etc.?

anybody done this before that would care to explain if they had any good improvements?

how much $$$ am i looking at doing something like this in Sydney?

The castings are as good as any mass produced cast item I spose. Mine was done before I bought the car so I cant give you any specific gains as such, but I have seen the comparison with stock items. You would get some minor gains out of it. Steve (smorrison) had his done by UAS, Im sure he would have some before & after figures.

Pull the bits off yourself & take them to a workshop - not much more than few hundred bucks I would think...

Yeah i've send my spare one to the workshop to get it done, so i probably able to find out the different once i installed them & put it on the dyno.
