Has anyone found a good place to replace a sunroof in Victoria?
thinking mine is heading towards the end of its life.
Seal a bit leaky in 1 corner and rattles a bit here and there.
Definetly need a new seal, but would like to get a general idea of what it would cost to fix.

The problem you will find is that if you already have a sunroof, the subframe under the roof will pretty much stop you from putting in another one without some serious work. If you take out the subframe, it will likely take out much of the structural integrity of the roof.
I went to see a sunroof mob a while back and they pretty much told me straight up that an aftermarket would be costly to fit. Having just removed the roof lining to repair some rust, I can see why that is.

i'm in the south east.
but interesting dstocks, i thought it would be as easy as pulling it all out and putting another seal in and another sunroof in. Any idea why they need to chop up the subframe to do it?

If aftermarket, you'll be lucky to find one the same size/shape (Although, I guess its possible). The subframe is actually spot welded to the roof and the panel beater told me yesterday that it actally helps support the roof skin (im getting rust in roof repaired at the moment). If you were to take it out, youll be left with just the roof skin on top. Its not very thick. I reckon the wind passing over the top of the car would be enough to make the roof skin flex if the subframe wasnt there. And the subframe is at best 1 inch wider than the hole on the front and sides and about 3 inches on the back, so modifying the hole would almost definitely require the subframe to be removed.
On the other hand, if you are replacing with another FTO one, no probs at all, it just drops out and can be replaced easily.
Not saying it cant be done, just that it is likely to be costly (unless you go genuine). But then, genuine sunroof would probably set you back too. Can get you the genuine part numbers for seals etc if you need them, just send me a pm.
