Air Conditioner Performance

The Air Conditioner in my FTO was serviced and re-gased when I purchased the car 3 weeks back. It runs ice cold but only while I'm driving. Once I stop at the lights or park the car and it is just idling the air-con is no longer cold. It basically becomes useless and just feels like outside air coming in.

Is this normal?

It really shouldn't be... hm...
Maybe check your aircon belt, and see that it's not too loose?
Otherwise take it to the experts again, and see what they say!

Thanks guys. Quick response, Love IT!

I just found a post that dates back to october 05' which sounds like the exact same problem I'm having now...

The end result was a busted cooling coil that was causing the problem. Does this sound right to you guys?

Know a good AC place in MEL anyone??

My better half has aircon trouble in her 90' Lancer so I might just take both in for a fix.

worst case senario (running thru my head) is that the clutch in your aircon motor is on its way out, therefore it would lock in low revs cause its not getting enough momentum...?

does that make sense to anyone?
