Hi guys, currently my battery light is constantly on so i took it to this electrical place to have a look, the battery meter constantly stays as 12 and when i step on the accelerator the battery goes up which we test with that tester as well
question is if the alternator is charging but could he be correct that the alternator is faulty or just my battery not holding the batter?

If the brand of battery says NS then its the original batterey from factory. depending on how old your car is that could be one possibilty.
Also an alternater doesnt start charging till around 2500 rpm so those voltages are correct, average voltage being between 12v and 14.4v.
If youve got an amp in your stereo system that would deff be putting a bit more strain on your altenator not heaps but enough to make it work a bit harder depending on how powerfull it is.
My battery light came up a while ago and it eneded up being the regulator inside the altenator. The alternator in an fto is in a real bitch off a spot they have to take off the front right wheel to get to it.
if it is the alternator youll be looking at around $400 to $500.
***word of warning if you get a new battery dont let them screw it into the batery pan cos theres allot of important sh*t under there. i found out the hard way stereo store said it would look neater. lost my car to the autoelec for 9 days after that . they drilled through the input output speed sensor

thanks for the info & ouch! not the original battery, using supergold at the moment, i know the alternator is a real pain to take off yeh ... i got quote around $500 for a aftermarket new one with warranty so i'm thinking into that, it looks like it's the alternator problem yeh unfortunately
