Hahaha that's a good photo!
Sometimes when your belts get wet they make that squeaking noise and they go away once they're dry again.
Hopefully it's only that coz it sounds pretty serious!

ive just been stuck in the city lol .. for 2 hours got some boys to help me push start it.. but wont start on its own.. fuel pumps workn u can hear it.. its clikn over..
i think maybe the alternator or starte motor is gone.. if i am correct not sure..? can water affect these ? i got no idea.. but i gues anything waist height of water can lol.

this is f#*d. any ideas from you guys.
i checked the cai pipe no water in there.
i should just convert my fto into a james bond speed boat. i got water in the headlights lights still work underwater lol

was your CAI sealed?
and where was the downpipe getting the air from?

umm the pipe wasnt sealed. its a hks sponge filter.. its just facing where all the others are and where the stock intake air comes in thru the bumper.
could maybe water of been sucked into the engine ? it seems to be runing ok now .. but i have noticed a bit of power loss.
my main concern is startin my car up for work

hmm I definately agree with u when u say waist high water can do bad things to your car.. I think this time u better be safe and take it to a mechanic instead of getting stuck in the morning to work, cos even if somebody tells u the problems u'll have to take it to get fixed anyway.
Well im not help sorry, but all the best

When looking at your engine, the starter is on the right down low at the front of the motor. It slots in where the engine meets the gear box (as it engages via the flywheel)
It can also be an oily bugger as the oil filter drip run of thing sits above it.

Tough break mate,
I ran my mum's 1 month new 2004 Astra into "thigh" height level of water 2 years back during the Melbourne bucket - managed to get teh car started once teh water drained away, but the car was a write off after because of major water damage - I'm glad you got your car moving again, but are you sure there's no other damage - water logged engine bay is never a good thing - you might be ok now, but potential for big probs later. If you've got insurance, it might be worth putting in a claim earlier rather than later, and get a thorough service again. Insurance covered us....
Sorry to be a pessimist...good luck to ya
