Yesterday while coming back from sydney, the cops pulled me over and said that the HKS Air intake pod needs to be inside some box and so they put the defect sticker on to my car. Now do i need to get the standrd air box and replace my hks pod?
if anyone here has the standard air box, can i buy it of you. If non of you guys have it can someone suggest a place in australia where i can get the thing from.
thanks

Just built a permanent box around the filter rather then swapping to stock and back to the HKS again..
This will be a fix without future headaches for you.
The cops will get you again otherwise, more headaches and more time wasted…

Grab one of that aluminium looking window shields and rap it around the filter like a box.
Alternatively, one full box DIY has just been released by one of the fellow FTO owner

Cool. What's the process for you to clear that defect then? Do you have to get it cleared in Vic or NSW?? Let me know because I'm not exactly sure..
In any case, a HKS pod is an oiled filter and that's even illegal in Vic, you're only supposed to run non-oiled filters (eg Apexera).
In any case, easiest solution is to borrow a stock airbox, and get the defect cleared. But if you want to box yours, get some cardboard, use it to make a template, buy some 1mm aluminium (or similar) and use the template to bend / cut to fit the template.

So in Vic you can have a pod filter, exposed.
