Need to improve my understanding and knowledge in terms of high end ICE,

I need to understand what this pop stoppers do exactly and at what point do you need them?

Just bought a new setup
6 ½ “ Component – 300W, 150RMS
6x9 Dome – 200W, 100RMS
2x12â€

Also forgot to mention, there is a 1 Farad Stinger capacitor attached to the system as well.
Is this affect the pop stopper?
Can they work together?

You may or may not need them (great answer I know).

Popping sounds result from a minor voltage spike which is sent to an amplifiers turning themselves on or off too soon. Some amps and headunits have delayed turn on/off circuits to account for this, but some don't (generally the cheaper brands).

Using a decent capacitor can help delay popping at startup.

My advice: install your system, and then see if you need it.

The headunit is new as well, hoping that it stops popping…..
I might read the manual, that’s boring...

Also, couple of questions,
How do I precharge the capacitor before connecting to the battery?
And for above system I mentioned earlier, I am still missing the amps,
How many amp do I need and what power?
I was thinking of getting a 600 or 800 RMS 2CH amp to power 2 subs and another amp to power the front components.
Headunit gives out 4x40W and I was going to run the 6x9s with this.
Is this makes sense? Should I run the 6x9 from amp as well?

Final questions; Front components speakers are 300W 150RMS, is this the total power required or for each speaker? Do I need 600W or 300W to power both speakers to max?

Wanna tell me what brand/type the speakers are? I'll look up the ratings and get back to you.

Yeah definitely run the 6x9s off the deck. You don't want to amp them as you'll already be getting heaps of low freq from the subs. Besides, SQ wise the backs are only really good for 'fill.'

Hmm. Definately interested gathering some information here on working out what to use to push what!!!!


Although i am looking a little more low end but still want splits at the front and 6x9's at the back...was thinking of a set of around 80RMS splits and about the same for the ovals at the back....

Fosgate have a 60RMS x 4 channel amp (but on paper it is supposed to push approx. 90RMS)

Would this be suitable...i dont want to break down walls but i am a bit partial to pumping up the jam!!! :-b

I went spastic last weekend again and bought the third 12" sub, same brand, same power. Also few little bits and pieces. Damn that Stinger stuff is expensive!
Now I got 3 x 12" 400RMS MTX to go into the boot, plus

I need some serious help to put all these in to the car now.

Shame it wont be ready to Autosalon.

Didnt even connect the headunit yet, sh*t scared to scratch the interior paint!
