Got some questions....

1. Fuel filter - replace or just clean?
2. Power Steering Belt - MD321692 (1065) or MD318667 (1070) ??
3. Spark Plug removal tool (i know it has to be a tube spanner type?? anyone actually used one for the back?? if so what did u buy and where. Save me some time.
4. Gasket, Inlet Manifold : MD175776??
5. wipers? was covered before but might as well ask here
6. Belt, Alternator : MD184973?
7. Alternator Pully?? #
8. Power Steering Pull??#
9. Electric fans...has anyone changed the radiator fan?? simple replace or upgrade to a new one?

Always replace the fuel filter - Ryco filter Z441

Generic belts from Repco or Auto ones are fine for all pulleys - take original in to match up (havent got numbers on me)

Spark plug tool is a ground down 17mm spark plug socket - avail thru any auto shop

Wipers are 20 & 21 inch for passenger & driver respectively - also avail thru any auto shop

Inlet gasket & pulley need to be gen mitsi

Never changed fan, why you doing it?

Not on my home PC at the moment so I cant help with part numbers sorry

- fuel filter, always replace.
- spark plugs, I had a tube spanner that was in the FTO tool kit.
- inlet manifold gasket, thats the right part number.
- for the fans, they are easy to replace, 3x10mm bolts for the one on the drivers side and I think it might be the same for the passenger side, it might be 4 bolts.

They rest I'm unsure about.

Just a note on the filter, make sure it's a Ryco, or a genuine. Ryco's can be had from any Kmart though so its nice and easy

Ryco, or so i'm told, blueprint and make there own filters according to genuine ones. Other brands then copy the ryco filters instead of going to the genuine ones aswell, it's like chinese whispers This results in bad things for other brands and lots of oil all over your driveway

I can't rememebr the specific brand I had the problem with (z411 copy, looked identical to the genuine one on the car, pissed oil out everywhere, twice!) but, just go Ryco and be safe

I'm def. doing the plugs but wanted a inlet gasket just in case (cos my other car is FUC&^ED) )

I knew I had to grind down a 17mm socket...wondered if there are any "off the shelf ones" but I guess since I have a grinder and a torque wrench then I'm really set.. lol

with the belts/pullies...has anyone used a proper tension tool?? do I need one?? just do them up until the deflection is right...the pullys are making noises and its upsetting me thats why I'm doing it...I've oiled them a few times...so now I'm just gonna rip them off and replace everything.

I think your suppost to have a proper spark plug tube spanner that comes with the tool kit, because my FTO and Lberty came with a tube spanner for the spark plugs in the tool kit.

yeah originally all ftos came with a
"spark plug removing tool" in all tool kits.... but try aqnd find one after 12 years....

yeah i ground down a socket... im putting in NGK's now, 90 bux for a full set

yeah I don't have it...but in reality a 17mm tube spanner is a std item and I will be just buying one on the weekened I guess.

yeah thats what I and the rest of the world have done, ive had to make several tools pulling the engine apart, and thats just 1 of them.

hmmm fuel filter.... how do u replace this ? where do u get a new filter from ? i dont think mine has ever been done.? can anyone help me out on this one ? where i can get one and when should it be done ?

you can get a fuel filter at mitsubishi, and I even think you can get it at repco, i don't know what intervals you change them on a FTO but on most holden's they get changed every 40,000km.

hmm looks like i needed one a long time ago lol.. would it improove fuel economy?or more power?? or anything if its a nice clean new one ? and the question is.. can i replace it myself or does it need to involve the help of a mechanic... sorry to take over topic

If you haven't change it seen you got it, the chance are, you will save fuel after, maybe a little better respond too.

There are two fuel filter btw, one at the engine bay, one near the fuel pump.

yeah was thinking the same...but now I'm confused which is not unusal
