After seeing a post from FTO338 i was very keen to get my hands on some of the original illuminated scuff plates but soon realised how rare they were.
So i decided to see if i could make them or something similar, so here they are..... Bad light but has to be dark to do its justice.
what do you guys think?

Thanks, Well i laser cut 2 pieces of alluminum with the FTO logo cut out of them....that was the easy part!
Then hooked up 3 leds to the 12v wire coming from the interior light (so comes on only when door is open) Posistoned the leds under the logo. Put a piece of white translucent plastic behind the FTO logo to give nice even light.
Thats bascily the short version, was a pain in the ass but a good end result.

I should of explained i personally didnt cut them got a friend of a frien to cut them but iam sure any cnc laser metal fab place would do it. He just used scrap so wouldnt be much at all. As far as the logo goes i had to supply that wich i just vectorised and made it a dxf. file so its all ready to cut on anything.
I can give u the logo as a dxf if u ever contomplait doing it?
