Replace main bearings involving taking out engine $$?

bro in-law drove through a parking post on the ground thus slashing through the oil pan....
Oil ran out while driving, the D!<khead didn't realise this till the car wouldn't start...
NOW in need from my fellow fto luvers for help as to where and how much to change the main bearings as this would involve taking out the engine ???
OH n i had the oil pan welded already btw and tried restarting it with oil..NO GO... and also tried cranking the car NO GO still...
IM in Sydney, Parra area !!

Yeah if he's clipped a main or big end the motor will need to come out....

most recomended action
replace whole engine
it will more then likly save you more in ythe short and long term
taking the engine out and puting it back will cost the same but i think youll find two things
a engine will cost you about 2k
rebuilding te engine with new bearings+you will probibly find a lot more damage or there will be unseen damage from lack of oil as you described in the rest of the engine.
thats onna cost you mroe then 2k
+ you get a new table out of you old engine
