Fitting King Springs - need to remove back seat?

Hi all,
Picking up some KingSprings later in the week. I just got a quote to FIT them and they quoted $220! They said its about 2 hours labour as they have to remove the rear seat?
Is this true, that the rear seat needs to be removed in order to fit them?
I have just had a sound system installed and i really don't want them unpluging all the leads to the amp etc. (amp is mounted on the back of the seat)

No, the rear seat does not need to be removed. The rear suspension assembly bolts to the car in the boot (under the carpet.) $220 to put 4 new springs in is pretty resonable....

I might fit my A'PEXi springs this weekend, I could do a DIY for you and you can save $220, I think a DIY was made or is gonna be made for fitting kyb shocks, you could use the info in that to fit your king springs.

Yea my dad and I will give it a shot, hes changed springs before.
Is there anything FTO specific we need to know - or is it pretty standard procedure?

I got it down to a fine art once I had done 1 front & 1 rear.
The front are pretty straight forward, wheel off, 3 bolts off from the top of the strut (which are in the engine bay) and then 2 17mm bolts of the bottom of the strut where it connects to the hub - then the strut comes out. Use your spring compressors & then remove the strut top, then remove the spring & replace. Re-assemble is the reverse.
The rear is a bit more tricky, especially if you dont have a hoist. You cant get the rear strut assembly out unless you remove the the entire lower control arm. I found it easier to unbolt the strut & then compress the spring whilst it is still on the car & reassemble in the car, then bolt it back up... hope that helps!
I will try & do a proper guide when I get time, I did take heaps of pics when doing it.

I just fitted my A'PEXi springs today, I finished Tafe early and my boss told me to take the rest of the day off, so about 2:00 today I fitted my springs, well the front only, Yeah I found the rear to be tricky for a tuesday, so I will do it this weekend when I have my rattle gun, would of made things a lot easier.
