Braided Steel Brake Lines

Hi guys,
I am about to purchase better brake lines,
Got 2 options,

First one is what Camskill sells

Second one is a brand called Goodrich. Dont have the link and details.

Goodrich is half the price of camskill at GBP40

I know few people from UK have used Goodrich and they are happy with it.
Which one should I choose?

Also, above lines are braided but not stainless ends. Should I get the stainless ends as well?
Also there is an option of coloured hose. any ideas here?

Need to have a decision today

the coloured ones are the goodrich brakelines and i have had them on my FTO for about 18 months now and they are great. look good and you really notice the differance in the feel of the pedal during braking, highly recomend them. If you can get them at that price grab them mine cost me over 200 AUD

at that price i suggest group buy

Apparently the connection points are Zinc plated, and I have the option to made them is st steel for a little extra.
Is there any difference do you think.

And what colour is yours?

Just a quick heads up, you do know steel braided brake lines are illegal right?

Rubber brake lines bulge when they have had it making it obvious when they need to be replaced. Steel braided lines prohibit this bulging so there is no warning before they go.

if they are the same goodrich ones as mine they are street legal, that is why i bought the ones i bought. They are tagged with number that makes them legal for road use

Yep if they are tagged & aus spec approved your fine.

most dedicated brake and clutch shops in australia will be able to supply them these days, they are stainless steel braided teflon line and you would need to ask for street legal as they need to have the adr number on them. I know mine have life time warranty, rubber lines start to become unsafe after 6 to 7 years and should be replaced. So most of you guys should have or be considering new brake lines.

I think it would be a good idea for a group buy and they come in several differant colours

yeah...

my mates Boss Ford V8 is 5 months old....one of the break lines let go recently...not good!

Mine are blue and look good not really that noticable unless you are working on the car, and depending on the price i would go with the stainless steel ends. Zinc plated would be ok but stainless = no rust. Zinc plating eventually could rust. Just make sure they are tagged for legal road use in Australia. The company you are dealing with should know what you are talking about if not then deal with someone else. In the long run better to make sure you have the right brake lines. If you don't have then correctly tagged and are involved in a accident it would give the insurance company an excuse not to pay out.

I have asked for all stainless steel, no Zinc plates.
I am buying this from UK though, not sure about if they can tag them for legal road use in Australia.
I will ask though.

I have asked the supplier regarding to tagging,
He has mentioned that he can specify the hoses to be TUV/ FMVSS approved.
Not sure what this stands for, is this helping me?

Goodrich stainless steel brake lines are posted as of today.
DBA slotted and RB74 is already waiting in the garage,
Include a fluid flush as well,

Looking forward to see the results towards the middle of the month.

how did you go with the tagging did they do them

when you get them could you post some pics of the tags if they have them and i will compare with mine to let you know if they are the same

Not sure about the tagging, the supplier wasnt aware of rules in Aus.
However, they have specified the hoses to be TUV/ FMVSS approved.
Not sure if this will help.

St Steel Brake lines arrived this morning,
They look great,
There is no such tagging on the lines
However, on the cover of the box it says,

TUV/ISO9002, DOT Approved FMVSS 106 Specified

Also the lines have guaranteed forever in UK, US, FR, GR, JP, NT SP, but Aus not in the list

Hopefully, they will go in 2 weeks time with all the other components, will update further about the final results

i bought some of stainless brakelines awhile ago from RPW and were pretty expensive but had ADR approved stamped and tagged on the end. not sure where / or what company made em though. must be around somewhere
