well if u have a high flow exhaust then they will allow more exhaust to leave your engine after combustion allowing more air to come in which will increase your power.. probably by about 7kw for fto i hear depending on size of extractors and exhaust. if u have a stock exhaust system extractors will probably do nothing.
by engine pipes are you referring to exhaust or intake or what lol
and why buy it when you dont even know what it does.. they cost like $500 :S

thanx for your help and they came with the car when i bought it.these are the mods on the car
*polished and ported intake
*extra large throttle body polished
*Apex VAFC +mivec controller
*Apex RSm
*urethane engine mounts
*UNIQUE highfolw intake
*custom design and built exhaust
*custom high flow CAT
*unique engine pipes
and im guessing that the engine pipes are intake, lol i dont know i aint no mechanic but yeah does that help and are the worth installing then

yes, extractors and exhaust pipes can improve your performance. Generally, they come in two styles. One boost "low end" pickup, the other gives you more power only "up to" (when your revving it hard).
Either way, you get more power, better economy, and a nice growl. The apexi items let you tune your car to better take advantage of them as well. Could be a nice little setup.

Its not my old car mate, mine already had extractor on it. But its close, it just need more performance parts and I had SAFC not VAFC

Well since I had a FTO and with all those modifications before, I can say you can throw your text book theory in the bin. Yes you get more power, but better economy, not in a million years.
Apexi RSM doesn’t do anything related to those mods either. While VAFC is a waste of time, as it was dyno proven, it does nothing but slow down a FTO.
I've wrote two different articles few years ago base on dyno result and "feel" experience. One on the RPW extractor and the other on the Apexi cat back exhaust system with and without "Super Silencer". Should be in the forum somewhere. They are quiet a long thread, so its a good bed time story

yeah the extractors and down pipes would be a good if you have them just sitting around. get some extra flow down to that cat and zorst.
the VAFC is just the SAFC with the VTEC YO!!!!! adjustment crap which wont really help u much and as FTO388 said probbaly just slows you down if you play with it.

He won't be the only one upset about it.....thank god my ex FTO won't end up with a veilside kit and the sound system is already $8k, so i know he won't touch a thing.

Hey yeah, this is Steve's old car...
Vannil, you'll need to pull off the Unique downpipes. They simply hook up the standard cast iron manifolds to the cat converter. The rpw set replaces the whole lot. We were always keen to see what the difference was between the 2 systems on the dyno. I dare say you'll pick up a bit of power / torque as the rpw headers are a pretty good design. Just check the finish on the joins thou. I had a few hours worth of works with a striaght grinder to get my set right.

Yeah I had a similar issue with the headers and downpipes. However I saw some other sets and they were much better than mine. Take the time to smooth out the joins and you will get the max benifit..

Hmm more than that, for the extractors AND the downpipes it'll be close to 1200 - As Ben's told me before
and
vannil man I would have paid $20K for that car, no joke, dead serious.. and if he asked for a gran or 2 more.. I would have happily paid that too. great buy once again (even though u've had it for a couple months now)
