new bushes, rough cost - anyone?

OK. I've had a bit of play in my steering for a short while lately. It felt a little like a wheel alignment problem so I took it in to the shop, and they said I need my bushes replaced; alignment wont stick without it.
Sounds reasonable, no drama. Called up my mechanic and he's gonna get me a quote.
Now, he's gonna get his parts from mitsu, and i'm worried that when they hear; fto and/or import, the price is gonna sky rocket for no the fun of it.
My mechanic isn't going to rip me off, I've known him for years, but mitsu are losing money atm so I'm not so trusting of them
What should I expect to pay, and are there any alternatives I can source, or am I up the pre-verbial creek?
