Hey All..... Well first time post for me here but been in and out of the forums for sometime. Ummm, its a pretty important one, just a bit of background of the situation here, the ecu has already failed me once, had that certain little section repaired but its only a stop gap solution and just the last few days has been getting real shakey again, so i want to replace it with an aftermarket ecu but dont know which would be best suited for it... so if anyone can help please do so, thanks a heap.

might help if u describe what part of the ecu is supposedly broken and describe the problem like jono said as it could be something else
apexi and other companies have piggyback ecus to override your ecu for all kinds of things, or there is also standalone ecus to override your ecu entirely like powerfc or microtech.

i went for a emanage when i had mine but also had wiring probs when it was installed apparently it was due to water damage so i had to get the wiring loom rewired...
I would say u might have to do the same if your having trouble with your stock ecu .... Get it looked at asap

Okay, well, basically im not too sure what part of it but there was an area damaged by a leaking problem onto it.... what actually happens, (which seems like it could lead to a couple of other things) no matter what time of the day, it cranks over then all over a suddenly dies, same thing over and over, once you get going its usually right...... some days its right yet lately everyday its been doing it and its only a matter of time it the car doesnt go at all.

could even be a faulty stepper motor mate

It just doesn't idle at all, kicks right over and dies straight up unless i keep the revs up using the accelerator, thats the only way i have been able to keep it going until i get on the move.
