06 STi Cat

A friend just got an XB package from MRT on his 06 STi
He is giving away to me his stock cat
I was wondering if anyone knows what size it is and if it's a good upgrade for a mildly worked 6A12?
The price is nice
And the car has like 20 odd k km on it so it's near new too

i wouldnt buy a stock cat...
they are the most restrictive item in factory cars
esp evo and sti's
they need to meet emission requirements thats why the big restrictions...
buy a metal cat for about 300 and they will increase a lot more flow!

Maybe it is restrictive on a 2.5L turbo but what about a 2L NA?
It can't possibly be that bad of a cat?

It's very restrictive because it meets the newer and stricter emmision laws.
Depends on your exhaust aswell. I know new cars have stupidly small exhausts.

My exhaust is 2.5"
Unsure how big the cat is though
So, I guess just go buy a metal one hey?

are you sure??? I have no doubt the STI would have a more free flowing cat than the FTO. The diameter of the cat would require modifications anyway!

Depends on the cat choice when the car is imported, you can buy a cheapppppp one (which is the standard option) or you can spend a little bit more. This choice is made when the car is complianced
