does it look alike coolant is in your engine bay...might be white sh*t everywhere??
when you take off the radiator cap is it full on cold??
When you fill up the overfill bottle, does it go away after a drive?
Most likely your thermostat is rooted...easy fix and cheep. Next look for obvious leaks...aka white sh*t in the engine bay around the intake pipe...
Check you oil with the dip stick...is it black?? is it milky??
COuld also be a head gasket...can u smell coolant from the exhaust after a drive...this is hard but u can sometimes smell it??
I have a overheating issue. Was the thermostat..then I had issue with leaking hoses...took gages to suss it out...but when fixed its was perfect...

yeah i think that would be the problem thermostat .. i unno bout the white things in the engine bay but i will have a look 2mrw...
and sometimes i smell a burining thing while stop goes away and comes back.. i will have a look tomorow. is the car still allright to drive for at least the next 3 days if the thermostat is broken?

I wouldnt drive it if it heats up that badly. Just a matter of time before you overheat, warp your head, blow your gasket or worse. A thermostat aint pricey or hard to change.

Sometimes the best fix is driving it right into a workshop

When you say you didn't have any coolant in the "thingo" do you mean in the overflow tank or in the coolant system (ie. radiator) itself?
If the radiator was empty then... well, that's just no good. You'll have to work out where the coolant went to determine the severity and cost to fix it.
If you meant just the overflow tank then yeah, it's probably your thermostat, or the fan may have kicked the bucket entirely.

lol yes not confident in giving coolant system diagnosis's & fixes when words like "thingo" come into the equation.
