I spent about $1500 - $2000 and 3 weeks off work to do it myself.bjk wrote:Very clean!

I was quoted $6000 for roof repair and full respray.
I was going to post photos of the exercise but I thought I had enough photos for now

Thanks Aza, I always wanted a quick release and now I have it
The shift light is fun too, Blue lights = non MIVEC, Red lights = Mivec, all lights flash @ 8000rpm for gear change
The last photos = long hours alone in the dark looking up

Re: PHIL069's 95 FTO GPX
So the $1500-$2000 was for the bodywork? Or did you do it all yourself, but for the same work it would've been $6000? Sorry, my brain isn't working.PHIL069 wrote: I spent about $1500 - $2000 and 3 weeks off work to do it myself.

I went and got quotes for the lot and the cheapest one I got was $6000.bjk wrote:So the $1500-$2000 was for the bodywork? Or did you do it all yourself, but for the same work it would've been $6000? So I decided to give it a go myself, took 3 weeks off work, spent $1500-$2000, bought supplies, paint, a decent paint gun (already had compressor) and a big tent to use as a spray booth.
A lot of hard work and wola a shiny new FTO

Looks great for a home paint job!
Where did you get the shift light from?
one of the only few I've seen that I like!

Shoot! If the paint looks as good as it does in real life as it does in the pictures, then you're a master with that spray gun! knowing you did it yourself I'm thoroughly impressed.
was it a same colour respray? like did you do the insides of the doors and all of that other stuff as well?

Re: PHIL069's 95 FTO GPX
That's awesome, and wtf is with that rust, how can the previous owner let that happen?
Good work, I honestly can't believe you did that yourself. I'd just pay you $2k to respray my car if I ever needed it done

I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.
