Wait for someone smart to chime in but, oil level good? Definitely GPX alternator? Tried in second gear? (I find it easier to tell)

Re: MIVEC not kicking in YO!
Oil level is just below full level.
Just contacted previous owner and said he hasn't changed or fixed an alternator.
Not recorded but yup same thing happens on 2nd gear.
Fully warmed up engine.

Let the car warm up correctly, needs to be the correct oil temperature, and oil pressure. Let it run for 5 mins before trying to drive with MIVEC. If that doesn't sort it then you need to check your Alternator, needs to be the 110A alternator with 4 pins., make sure it's plugged in correctly, and make sure all 4 pins are intact and not damaged.

It should be printed it or on a plate stuck to it. If it's 4 pin it'll be the 110A mivec, if it's 2 pin it'll be the 90A non-mivec

Check for codes.
Many things can stop mivec, ZFLA5H's FTO did this because one of his injectors wasn't plugged in correctly.
