Ge-ne-tics just kicked in ;)
Hi all,
Name is Leo,
My need for speed just kicked in.it started when i sat in an GTR nuff said. But im still slowly learning. From the Western Suburbs where it is FTO galore.
So with much research and recently learning manual, ive decided with the FTO (MANUAL) it'll last me ill i get my degree..
yummy white or black! ive already got my eyes set on a beautiful white one, where hopefully when the owners come back from their holidays i will have enough money by then.
for about hopefully 7500 to 8500 1997 White GPX with about 160,000km
with the following mods:
Tien flex coilovers which can be adjusted. i HATE HUMPS
2-1/4" mandrel bent exhaust with hi flow cat and muffler
Front Clutch Type LSD
Clarion sound system
2 amps
tweeters (anyone? got no idea what that is)
Car is in pretty mint condition.
For that price what do you think?
AND the 1st stupid question which i haven't been able to find is ..... Is it possible to install a sunroof?

WTTC
Yes it is possible to install a sunroof, but they are a massive problem for what theyre worth and pricey to boot.
From what youve put up it sounds like you can get it for slightly less than 7500, there are ones going round that have a bit more done to them if your looking for a pre-modded one
Tweeters are kind of like mini subs in your doors
What GTR did u ride in - 32? Don't say 35 i would be one jealous f**k
Just please make sure you get it properly inspected before you pull the trigger
Keep looking, i reckon you can talk down a nice GPR for 8.5-9

WTTC - Like Taz said it is possible to get an aftermarket sunroof. I looke dinto it myself but decided to spend the money elsewhere on the car. I have a sunroof in my other car and it rarely gets used, uless you count drunk friends standing up and yelling at other drivers.
7.5K-8K does sound like it is in the pricey rigeon from what I have seen lately, though if it has been well looked after and is in good condition than it would be a good price, though it is so hard to tell, especialy with mods I find.
Yes tweeters are a type of small speaker, mostly for the higher frequency sounds, hence they "tweet" Like birds.
I had my FTO while I was at uni as well and it was awseome, though the small back seat was a bit of a pain...
Make sure you drive a few before you settle on one as well. No 2 FTO's drive the same, especialy if you cut your teeth on a GTR, They are fun to drive but alas, they are no match for Godzila

WTTC.
The problem with after market sunroofs in FTO's are that the ones without sunroofs have the little indent (that follows the bonnet) And it kinda looks a little bit silly.
Where as the ones factory with sunroof, do not have the indent.

At the time I was looking around they were saying between 1-2K, and those were the dodgy places as well! It was a few years back no so I am sure things would have changed slightly. And Yeah, ^ the indent in the roof may make it a little difficult.
I am sure there is a thread around here someplace...

WTTC man
I recommend going for a GPVR i picked mine up for 6k and it was perfect not one bit of rust, pretty much all stock and had only 75kms on the clock.
So if you do your research and dont just jump into it you will find a bargain FTO that will not let you down.
