Water is bad full stop, not so much about boiling, more about the fact that its compressible & corrodes the sh*t out of any steel brake component.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this. Water like any liquid is essentially not compressible, the problem is water turns to steam at a measly 100 degrees Celsius, and gasses are very easy to compress and absolutely useless in hydraulic systems. The more water that is in your brake fluid, the lower the point at which it boils and therefore becomes useless.

The problem is that dot 3 and dot 4 brake fluids are hydroscopic, meaning they absorb water from the atmosphere which is why they should be replaced regularly.
Me? Bitter? f**k no. I think it's hilarious.
