Fans not always working

Have diagnosed problem on Smurfy overheating.

Fans don't kick in 100% of the time which is making it overheat. Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont.

I have replaced the coolant temp sensor and reset the ECU (just because) so what else could be causing it?

Sorry, forgot to mention...

Thermostat is new, have new Samco radiator (and power steering) hoses and I believe the radiator has been checked for blockages as well.

Coolant was recently replaced with Nulon post-mix.

Shhh you, I was just trying to help :(

I've had a few coolant related issues as of late (among other problems), courtesy of a certain ninja.

Might be your fan relay in the engine bay fuse box.
Try swapping #13 Radiator fan relay with #10 electric window relay just to test. Both these relays are the same.
If it fixes your problem then just leave the window one empty until you replace it.

Funnily enough I actually pulled the fuse out and cleaned it up a bit. Didn't think to swap them though. Good thinking bestie, will try that tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry wrong pic, you need to swap this one over with maybe a spare one from your spare car...

Now all the "brown" relays are the same in that row but I'm unsure what the rest are so better off getting another to test with.

You can still swap the fuses as stated before too.

I have made up a pic naming all the engine bay relays.
I would swap the radiator fan relay with the horn relay and test your fans.
Forget all that I previously said

So swap the top two?

Good thinking!
