Hey just got my Timeing chain done and VRS set And Cam seals etc
Got it done for $1020 Good price i think Only now my engine is making a really bad ticking noise (like my old subaru) and service guys reckon i need new hydralic lifters (the engine was really quite before the service). Do you think they have stuffed it up? Will it be expensive?
Hi got a GPX Manual Just got it back from Autocraft in hobart and they said it sound like abit of sealant may have blocked a lifter and changed oil to Motul 8100 ECO-ENERGY 5W30 OIL so sounds like my cars getting repaired again only done about 1000k since i brought and some of that is when serviced err Its so annoying
i have had the oil drain 4times in the last 3days i think my engine is going to have to come apart err anyone know of a good url where i can order new hydrolic lifters and tappets for a 94 GPX?
how come the service people keep saying i need replacment hydralic lifters my car is a GPX? that site only sells non mivec lifters? i'm abit confused thanks

dodgy line of work it is!!!

and u didn't even call him a noob the whole time Razz
mate im always helpful! but i dont think i can get the IMC position!!! hahaha
I'm a newbie come on be nice i know they are adjustable but i'm going on what Mitsubishi said. I Don't know much about engines only the basics. This noise is really bad and really anoying Sounds like my old subaru
Noise is coming from the back bank so i think maybe a bit of silicon blocking oil getting though properly from when they fixed (or stuffed up)
Any help would be great

Mechanic is not a newb as they have been working on my GPX for the last 3 years.
Fairly reputable workshop.......last time I was up there they were doing work on a GT40 replica, supercharged 350z, 650hp WRX plus a bunch of aother cars that make the FTO look very average indeed.
DanXbix, feel free to PM me, We can meet up for coffe or something and I can check out your car if you like? see if it is noisy compared to mine etc etc
I didn't have problems with my lifters (they are solid and just get adjusted) but there are little plastic clips (for lack of a better description) in the top end that can crack and work their way loose.
One of the mechanics said to me it looks like a couple of hydrylic lifters are not getting any oil through them. Is it possible that could of happened
by just getting the oil drained? They are not to sure but are saying it will be six week before they can get any? Or is there a place you guys or gals know of?

either got crap in them or your havn't got enough oil pressure....I bet its the crap scenario..as said 100 times...get them adjusted.
