Car almost died

Post by topao »

okay was driving along last night and the stereo just died it completly powered off for about 5 seconds and then came back on, i thought maybe the power cord may have come loose so didnt think much of it, but 15mins later i stopped at the lights and the car started shuddering the batt Gauge was going down and then back up a litle bit when it was almost all the way down, the whole dash was flicking on and off again along with the headlights i was really scared car was gonna die so as soon as light went green i floored it and everything went back to normal, luckily home was a minute away. The battery is fairly new and i checked the connections with it and all is okay. Anyone got any ideas?

Get alternator checked by an auto electrician...
or just whack a multi-meter on the terminals of your batt / alt and giver her a rev.... voltage should rise...
Get that out of the way first...

Maybe there was a UFO hoving above your car :?

I've seen movies where your electronic screw up when they hover near your car

Hope this helps :P

Sounds like alternator... if it comes back to life when you give it a rev, its alternator.

did it happen when you were slowing down or going around a corner??

sounds like your stepper, going to very low rpm, causing everything to dim due to alternator now creating power.

Car was about to stalll?
