    OK, to silence the critics....

Pics are crap and the car REALLY needs a wash, but it appears some people arent patient enough to wait.

        From What ive learner

        Post by dstocks »

From what ive learned , they were only made from 97 onwards and when you actually look at the production numbers (for all FTO's) between 97 and 2000, there wouldnt have been a heap of them made. Probably only a handful each year. Did see 2 others for sale while I was looking. Missed out on the first one (didnt bid high enough) and the third one came up after this one.

I certainly havent heard of another in Australia yet.

What are the physical differences between an aero GPvR and a normal GPvR? Obviously a few stickers that actually look quite nice.
Is that front bar different than a normal GPvR?

Looks like the same front bumper to me, i can't tell if the headlights are series 1 or 2 though due to the reflection from the sun.

          Good Question

          Post by dstocks »

Now thats a good question. The FTO comparisonstuff I did a while back highlights those:

          http://www.completefto.com.au/FTO_showcontent.asp?aid=451

just untick everything except GPvR (post 97) and scroll down the column. The options section lower down indicates the differences. In a nutshell:

So we got wider tyres front and back
            An Extra 20kg
            Slightly higher power density (???)
HID Lamps (thought they were standard in all GPvR??)
            No Traction control
Central Locking (Again thought this was std on all GPvRs)
            No Projector Headlights

            Is that right?

            Depends

            Post by dstocks »

Depends where you read. This stuff was really sketchy when I put it together. Just looked at that comparison myself and I have a couple of fields wrong. I dont think traction was available on any GPvR's. Was getting mixed messages with the central locking. I think that it was an option on the standard GPvR's but standard on the aero (Electric mirrors were another confusing one). One site said rallyart muffler and strut braces, but couldnt find references to these elsewhere. Might have to do a little more research on this I think.

Me, I just wanted something relatively unique and I think I have achieved that :D
