Just wondering if anyone knows any thing about the starting issue that im having with my car at the moment?
Just thought that it may be a common issue with in the FTO's. I havn't owned it long and have had quite a few issues with it, i may just need some pointers in the right direction!!!!
ill explain: When i try to start it i just get a click noise and nothing else. It's as though my battry terminals are loose or something but they aren't. I have had the starter motor replaced, thinking that it was the issue. It fixed my problem for about 2months but now it's doing it again. I may have just got another dud starter motor as it was secon hand, (but i was assured that i would be fine.)
Does any one know if we are looking in the wrong direction?
Even my mechanic is scratching his head on this one. HELP!!!!!!!
car not starting? please HELP!!!

Thanks
The more info and opinions that i get on the issue the better.
It's at the mechanics now, because that's where it broke down after having the timing thingy changed i noticed that my speedo wasn't working. so i took it back he fixed it and then as i got in the car to leave, it wouldn't start. The mechanic thinks it's the starter moter. so i guess i will see on monday.
I just don't wnat to have to spend unnecary money on it. coz i spent over $2000 on it last week getting all of the other little issues fixed. Just really don't want to have to spend anymore on it!!!!! At least for a while any way.
thanks for the advice.

hey ive had the same problem just recently fixed.. take your starter motor out and check it before u buy a new one..
make sure your batery is unpluged before u take it out
its 2 bolts holding it. open the starter motor up 2screws and 2 long bolts goin in .. not very hard then just pull it out .. and check the copper bits if they are chiped away (like my old starter) then its fuked get a new one.. i tried just gettin that part but have to buy a complete starter all together.. check the brushes.. they might just need replacing.. befoer u need to be replacing it.. but my guess u got a dodgy starer motor.. if u want il take pics of mine on how to pull it apart to show u ive got mine out at the moment .. just so u can check so u dont spend a ridiculous amount of money on another starter .. or some leco who wants to rip you off and say its gonna take 6hours to pull apart and fix lol..

Gr8, I will have to get my boy friend to do that for me.
I understand a little bit about my car, but not really. I just want to learn more about it. so hopefully being on here i can.
All i now is that FTO's are one sexy car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bit expensive to fix and for insurance but.
who do you guys go through? I'm only 19 and I'm on probation with my licence (i like to speed) so it's really expensive to get full comp.
