And what size tyers and wheel width you have to have? Because i have just been given a set of Cabo mags by my friend, but i think that the fronts will be too big because they are 40/235 r18. the stud patterns fit but i'm worried that they will be too big for the front. ARE THEY?
Na mate they'll be fine. 40/235 18's are just Perfect go any size bigger & your goneeeeeeeeee. I check when i went Tempe Tyres.

225 x 40 x 18 tyres on 18 x 8 rims with a 35 offset - and yes they scrubbed badly. Added in postitive castor bushes on front control arms & 3mm spacers (illegal) and it now only rubs on full lock.
So that means that if I was to have the exact wheels and tyres that I was given put straight on my car they would rub badly hey.
Could I just get 225s for the front two tyres? (Sorry I don’t know much at all about wheel and tyres)
Coz we put one wheel on the back last night and it has (what I think is) enough clearance. But from what I gather that you’re saying I defiantly can’t have the 235’s on the front. And would I have to do the same thing as you and add in positive castor bushes on front control arms & 3mm spacers like you had to (I don’t even know what they are) for them to be ok? IF so how around how much does that sort of thing cost? Coz I may be better off just buying new wheels that will just fit on there without doing all this stuff.
I have 18" and they're fine BUT just realise that once u get 18" fitted, your car will sit much higher and well.. it'll just annoy u endlessly. I went from 17" to 18 and my car is now half an inch higher, and i can't lower it by half an inch, only a full inch which will be too low to get into my driveway and not to mention it looks sh*t now cos it sits so high

I think 235 is a little big for an fto.
225 is better or 215 will have no probs.
Correct me if im wrong guys, but doesnt that depend on your rims?
I.E a rim with 225 as standard could go 235 or 215?.. i have 215 on at the moment and am thing 225s might help a little bit with traction. but may scrub.

Not sure about how you'd go about it but someone I know got his arches in his car pushed inwards or something. Gave him more room for wheels and less room for engine... or something of the like. I'd be more specific but the terminology escapes me, sorry not really a car person.
If I was to just put em on and they were too big or what eva, they won’t do any damage or anything will they. Can’t afford to fix anything else on the car for a while she’s sending me broke fixing all the stuff that’s broken on her lately.
I just have to go and get some other wheel nuts so that I can put them on. coz the ones that are on my standard wheels don’t fit when the other wheels are put on. And I didn’t get the wheel nuts with the new wheels.
I dont think they'd damage your car... scrubbing is just when the rubber hits the guards... the worst it will do is make some noise and scuff your inner guards (The part no-one can see.)
As long as the wheel is on securely, you should be right. just take it slow for corners incase it scrubs badly and hinders your ability to steer with them on. Though i doubt that.

Just don't go driving like a loon. Put the front wheels on, turn them to full lock or till they start rubbing and see how far that is... you'll get an idea quickly enough if they're impracticle as all hell.
If turning is fine... take it for a slow drive... on a smooth road... then a slightly bumpier road and so on... and so forth.
Scrubbing could cause unessary wear on your tyre though if it's excessive ... could it not?
Yes... I had mild scrubbing when going around sweeping corners at 80kmh+ and hitting bumps... so really only ever happened on this one corner on the way home from my old work. Only made a funky noise and tiny amount of extra wear in that spot...
But servere scrubbing could wear a patch on the inside of your tyre quite quickly (Over period of months)
Yeah just take it slowly... You'll notice if something isnt right.
Oh and when you turn full lock to test it, make sure its on the ground, not jacked up.

18's Shouldnt scrub and if so.. yeh it should only be minor. As far as i know and the good blokes down @ ozzy tyres know.. 19's are the biggest rims that have been driven on a FTO before...and that fto lives in syd.. i had 20's sitting on my fto last time i took it down.. haha.. 1st fto in aus!! for 19's & 20's you need to do some adjustments.. for 20's... they sit on.. but if you want to turn.. err no deal lol.. we were ready to do project nock the wheel wall out.. haha.. i decided against it...
