Had an accident, car not handling the same
Hey guys,
regretably, I took a left corner a wee bit too fast in my manual GPX, and smacked solid curbs with all four wheels. Basically, i smacked my right front rim against a curb, which shot me to the left, and I hit the curb of a grass verge, and jumped up it and onto the grass (all 4 wheels would have hit the curb) before coming to a rest. I hit the curbs at somewhere in the vicinity of 80 k plus.
The 2 front rims were bent, but i got them repaired, and moved to the rear.
Driving around, I noticed that my car will pull to the left, and the steering is light when turning left.
When I turn right, the steering is heavy.
Also, it is even very pronounced when dirving straight, and accelerating.
The car feels uneven, and will pull to the left big time when hard accelerating. (even when holding the wheel straight, and the car is going straight, u can feel it wanting to pull to the right, and when u take your foot off the accelerator, you feel the car seem to snap back level)
My mechanic has taken a peek under the car, but cant see anything that might be damaged.
Can anyone give me a list of things that might cause the above symptoms,... especially the way it pulls more and more to the left the harder you accelerate.
Thanx in advance.

Itll be
Have you had a wheel alignment done. That will almost certainly be out after an incident like that and would cause the symptoms you are getting.
Failing that, itll be something in the suspension that will be bent. Might be worth taking to a specialist. Theyll have a look for nothing (or should).
If you need parts, I have all the running gear for a GPX, so can get you anything you need to set it right. If youre after new parts, can probably point you in the right direction there too if you find out what is damaged.

If the rims are bent, change them immediately.

mate...get rid of the bend rims...
very dangerous if you are in emergency situation...
even though tis fixed, its not the same
i wouldnt risk my like on something under 1k....
maybe the smash repairer fixed it with 2nd hand cv joints and stuff...
therefore its still crap?

thanx for the replies guys.
The rims, even though repaired, are still not 100 percent,... they never will be. Its just a temporary fix 'til I save the cash for a new set of wheels.
I will take the car back after easter and get an alignment done.
Maybe that will sort it out,... if not, at least I know its mechanical for sure.
Will take it to a suspension place and get them to give it a full checking over.
If It turns out I need a few parts, I'll kepp u posted.
Thanx
