My girlfriend has had her 95 GR tiptronic FTO for over a year.
Its always had this lound whine in unison with the engine revs. Having never driven another FTO i have been assuming its a quirk of the car (myself being a diehard nissan fanatic)
Although yesterday I thought it could be the alternator as when the car is cold it sounds like theres a audible whirring noise coming from somewhere in the belts region.
Is this whine normal on FTO's?
Can anyone also recommend a great FTO mechanic in SE suburbs of Melbourne?

Lee is the man for your FTO. And is in the SE suburbs.mxysxy wrote:Check out the pulleys,
It could be due to bearings,
Search for "Lee" in VIC section, he is the one most of the Melb FTO owners refer to in terms of service and complicated issues.
Could be many things, belts or alternator as suggested. Take it to him and he will suss it out quickly.

WTF? was the seat particularly unhappy about something? or did you have the "better half" or even worst the "better half's" mother in the passenger seat?Storm wrote:I had an annoying whine in mine but it turned out it was coming from the passenger seat. Caught with the "better halfs" sister in the passenger seat. Pretty sight at the time - results were not pretty afterwards.BorepYano wrote:whine from the passenger seat?
