Got A Quote From Pedders..Too Expensive???

Hey everyone hows it going? I coulnd't figure out what's with the noise in the front of my car so got my suspension checked out at Pedders Suspension in Thomastown for $14, doing the 28 point safety check. Not bad for the price...but there were some problems. Here's what the guy said in the quote:
1. Shocks - Lack Of Control / Worn - $684.86
2. Upper Bushes - Bearing Plate Splitting - $134
3. Bump Stops - Crumbling Apart - $90
Parts - $908.86
Labour - $160
WA - $110 (I don't know what it stands for...?)
Total - $1123.86
So my question is...is this expensive? Should I book my car in & get pedders to fix it? Or should i try & go somewhere else? Or should i just buy the parts from pedders & get my uncle(His a mechanic by the way..hehe) to fix my car for me, cause he said he'll charge labour for $50-$100 to do it? So what shall i do? I've been to Midas & they said they can't find shockers for my car, i went to autobarn but they said they can get koni shocks for my car for $950! Thanks for your help everyone & happy easter! =)

All the above can be done by your local mechanic but most likely they can't do a wheel alignment for you ... still i reckon if you know a good mechanic you could save up to a few hundred bucks

Pedders tried to charge me $2600 to have my car done .... I was blown away , took it to my local mech , and he did it for $700 ... Car feels like a dream now , and I got to choose the parts (king springs baby )

Agreed. Look in the suspension thread stickied in the Tech / Performance section. All the bushes, part numbers, prices & where to get them from are there. Its a 7 page thread, but most of the good stuff is on page 3
