Bonnet won't open

Post by Delvance »

I've just spent half the day trying to open the bonnet but it won't budge grr. The cable is not broken and i can feel the lever pulling the lock/hook just inside the bonnet. Any ideas please ?

if u slam the bonnet down a lot it bends the locking mechanism... and it gets locked in place... happened to me... i pushed the locking mechanism back... with multi grips and it opened

Hey i had the same problem on the weekend, could feel it pulling but nothing was happening. I just made sure the bonnet was pushed down as far as it could then pulled the lever really hard (i was pretty annoyed with it  ) Then i put my hands under the bonnet lip to lift it up (as it wasn't lifting with the lever) a tad then found the lever and opened it.

I hope that makes some sort of sense.

The bonnet does not move a single bit when the lever is pulled.
Finally managed to open the bugger...detached the cable from the lever in car, gripped it with heavy duty pliers, and yank really hard lol (surprised the cable didn't break).

Mel star 1,
Lol i think i understand what you described, if i am understanding it correctly, then i had that happen as an early sympton actually. Might be a good idea to not slam the bonnet closed as Jonowong mentioned, just push down on it to close it.

Thanks peeps.
