ya. Although a ran a GB for some sick IRIWAY7s..whcih btw seem to run awsome...FTO338 wrote:Only for the back 3 banks. But most change all six with either Plat or Irdium
I would probably just go for some std. copper 7 rated NGKs and change them more often...gapped at 0.8 if u can find them. But for a 100kw car 1.1 gaps probably ok. Although my currents are gapped std to 0.6 starts much better - dunno I noticed a massive improvement.
Much cheaper...
anyway thats what I reckon. Plats used in the back bank cos its harder to get to...but really its not that hard.

i've been told that you don't even need to run Iridiums or platinums even in the back... that normal spark plugs work fine, and its a waste of money..
I've yet to find out whether it will actually give any better performance or not, or if its just that they will last longer than normal ones before needing to be replaced...

The reason why FTO run Plat at the back 3 bank is to avoid changing spark plugs frequently, as it’s a "pain" to do so.

Its just so they last longer cos its a pain to change. Performance can only be proven on a dyno. For info on IRIDIUM style plus have a look as the UAS test results under the FTO Project section of the forum. The reckon under controled test it gave a 2kw gain from memory.mr-charisma wrote:i've been told that you don't even need to run Iridiums or platinums even in the back... that normal spark plugs work fine, and its a waste of money..

GPX require a heat range 7 plug, here are some NGK choices:
BKR7E (copper gapped to 0.8 from factory, repco have these but might need to order them in)
BKR7E-11 (copper gapped to 1.1 and probably ok)
BKR7EIX-11(maybe come in the 0.8 version, have to ask if it did it would be BKR7EIX)
PFR7M (platnium versions, never bought these myself)
Replace the 7 for 6 for the GRs.
If you worried about long life, go the Irridium IX versions. The should last for ages.
