Hey i just got my car back from the workshop for the same thing, but i hadn't changed anything it just started doing it one day. Mine only does it on cold mornings, it will turn over but as soon as the revs drop it dies. I was able to keep the revs up though by holding the accelerator on until the cars warmed up, then it was find........until the next cold morning. I don't know if this is the same thing. I've started it this morning and so far so good, if it is definitely fixed i'll let you know what was done to fix it. Hopefully that helps.

only for the cluster, id pull it apart and make sure theres nothing stopping it moving.

its relativly easy to do,

theres 2 screws on the bottom side of the top of the cluster shade (if that makes sense) then it just pulls out and the rest is pretty easy.
