Does it only happen at full lock? i.e. You can't turn the wheels any farther?

Depends

Post by dstocks »

That depends on whether its just a replacement of the CV boots, or whether it has run dry and buggered the joint. I got a boot replaced on one a couple of months back for $60 (and I removed and replaced it myself). If the CV itself is buggered, it will cost quite a bit more than that

If the CV happens to be buggered, I have a spares that might suit.

    basically

    Post by dstocks »

basically, the shaft that drives the front wheels. Goes from the transmission (gearbox) to the back of the wheel hubs on the front wheels. Each shaft has a couple of universal joints that are packed with grease. The boots can split and if not repaired quick enough, all the grease comes out and can stuff the joints.
