G'day all
What is the easiest way to defog my headlight?
I was thinking of getting a piece of dowl with a wad of tissue tapped to the end and accessing the lens through the high beam globe hole but i don't think i can reach in front of the low beam light.
An other idea i have is to remove both globes and sit a hair dryer in fornt of the high beam hole.
Anyone have any better ideas?
Morning dstocks.
Thats what I was thinking.
But i'm a little bit concerned about blowing the moist air over the reflectors and possibly tarnishing them.
You could always bake the lights in the oven and clean them that way I guess . Quite a few of the club members have been doing this recently to add a little colour to the black bit inside the light.
Seriously though, There is already moisture in there, so if tarnishing is going to occur, it will happen irrespective of whether you put a little more in there while trying to dry it out. I would honestly be more worried about how the moisture got in there in the first place.
Was that my guide or the forum discussion. Doesnt matter I guess. I havent glued mine back together yet as I was more testing the theory (on buggered lights). I would clean all the old glue off properly first and use either a silicon based product or something like windscreen sealant. This is just a guess on my part. Cant say whether this is the best way to do it or not. When I get around to putting some back together I will append the results to my guide.
