Spark Plugs and filters again

Post by BorepYano »

hey guys i've been searching through the site for a while now but still cant find exactly what i need, all the stuff i did find just confused me

i need to know what spark plugs u would recommend for a GR, and the part numbers of them.

and also a mate has a trade account with repco so preferable something i can get from repco.

booked the car to get serviced at Kmart tyre and auto ( it's within walking distance to my place and they arent as bad as some others... even though they did leave a socket extension bar under my bonnet last time 8O lol), so i'm hoping to get the some decent spark plugs cos i dont trust them lol

edit: while i'm at it can anyone recommend oil filters, fuel filters, auto oil and engine oil (inc. part numbers). i would sort through posts that showed up in the search, but i'm running out of time (have to leave for work in 5mins and i want to be able to order the parts tomorrow to get them in time).

thanks heaps guys.

btw thanks for that Grue.

Iridium Plugs that most seem to be getting:

GPX : NGK BKR7EIX or DENSO IK22.

GR : NGK BKR6EIX or DENSO IK20.
If you can't dazzle them with dexterity, baffle them with bull...

so here's what i came up with:

spark plugs: NGK BKR6EIX or DENSO IK20 (are these both Iridium plugs?)
auto oil: Dexron III
engine oil: redline 10w-30w (just off memory from things i've read here)
transmition oil filter (auto): MD752072
oil filter: MD360935 or Z411
fuel filter: MB868459

going to get a mechanic to do all of that.

then i'm going to flush the radiator and myself (yay i get to water to lawn lol)

did i miss anything?
i dont think i need to do the timing belt or any other belts but i'll let the mechanics double check that i guess...
and also i think the brakes are fine too so i'm going to leave the pads and fluid be.

and do i just give this list to the repco rep (mate has a trade account at work with them), or... :?

Repco don't sell mitsy part.

Z441 is the fuel filter
Z411 is the oil filter (check the numbers, maybe i have them mixed up)
The tranny filter is the same as the oil filter.

They are all ryco parts, coopers have oil and tranny filter, same part number, but cheaper and better.

Dex III tranny oil
I use penzoil 10w40, cost about $30 for 5 litres. Better then $30 a litre for the redline. I change mine once every 5km.

The alternator belt and p/s a/c belt, should check it. They cost about $30 for both, takes about 30 min to change yourself.

Check the alternator pully, you might need to change that as well. I changed my alt belt over the weekend, the pully was screaming like a banshee on heat, it was that bad. Short term fix, just lube it with some oil then order a proper one.
