Car Dieing while in motion

Post by Decepticon »

Hi Guys

Really need some advice

My GPX dies while I'm driving it just konks out..........and it takes a few goes to turn it back on.

I have checked the battery and oil levels. I also notice that sometimes it idles at high revs while at the lights

I have been told that either one of these need cleaning

Injectors
Throttle
or changing fuel filter?

Anyone have any ideas or have the same problem?

Thanks in Advance

Do you get any error codes when you run a test?

I used to have *another* car which did this at certain revs and it was because of a minor sensor problem.

Cheers,

the reving high problem.... is it just idle or just when your car is supposed to be in low-ish revs and it stays/jumps to about 3k?

if it is, i had that problem which was caused by one loose/broken wire

Could be the stepper motor if dying when at low revs/idle.

I used to have the exact same problem mate. Ive got a GPX as well, its the stepper motor. When the electrician pulled out the stepper motor, it was all burnt. So he ordered one from Sydney for arnd $150 and that was the end of that. All good to go!

I was also told today that if it was the stepper motor the car should not just die like that, as there was no lights on the dash that was lighted up.......

It just switched completley off, He is saying could be an alarm malfunction issue

When my car died of whislt driving, i did not see any lights come up either. It was as if someone has just turned the ignition off. So i doubt it's the alarm malfunction but hey it could be it. Id put my money on the stepper motor!
